Krissy Dooley is an accomplished abstract artist based in Rossendale. Her work is purely gestural and the result of extensive self-reflection and exploration, learning to embrace the physical act of painting as emotions, connections and impulses pour onto canvas.
For Krissy, her work is a choreography of instinct and intuition that builds layers of intricate, often overly complex details. These tell imperfect stories of freedom, resilience and transformation, and as the work develops, they are carefully edited to peek through at just the right point in the composition.
With depth and complexity, yet an unyielding sense of hope, Krissy’s work invites viewers to look closer, be present and find moments of joy amongst the chaos.
